Grid Strategies
Having worked with us on the development of the Future Power Markets website, Grid Strategies knew Red Chalk was the right partner for the redesign and development of their website as well as their identity system. We said goodbye to their previous generic, template-built website and designed a custom, brand-centric solution they are quite happy with. Several dynamic features were integrated to give it additional personality and visual interest, without getting in the way of the content.

Future Power Markets Forum
Working with Grid Strategies and their clients Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University, we helped design and develop the website for their Future Power Markets Forum initiative. The purpose of the Forum is to investigate market design proposals for a deeply decarbonized electricity system.
The website’s primary purpose is to house expert commentary on relevant research topics and provide access to their research library. We designed and developed a site that’s easy to navigate, search and read.

Active Efficiency Collaborative
Working with the Alliance to Save Energy, we designed and developed the Active Efficiency Collaborative website to help the Alliance and their partners promote their goal to accelerate the adoption of Active Efficiency.
Key features of the site include an interactive “web” map to help visitors better understand the “universe” and objectives of active efficiency, big visuals to support content messaging, dynamic content filtering, and strategic text formatting to allow for easy scanning and reading.

Energy Efficiency Impact Report
Working with the Alliance to Save Energy and their partners, we were tasked with developing a website to manage the annual digital Energy Efficiency Impact Report, which tracks progress in a variety of sectors, including utilities, buildings, industry and transportation, and examines how policy and other tools are used to incentivize energy efficiency.
A key element of this website are the many charts and graphs, which the Alliance requested to be engaging and interactive. In addition, given the density of the site and on-page content, we developed a dynamic navigation system that allows visitors (from government agencies to the media) to quickly locate content most relevant to them.

Alliance to Save Energy
We have worked with the Alliance to Save Energy for over two decades, helping them strengthen their brand and develop corporate marketing assets, as well as marketing tools for over a dozen different programs and initiatives. This current website is the second iteration we’ve tackled, rebuilding it on their existing Drupal framework.
This site manages a complex, dynamic content-management structure to handle the many stakeholders and program requirements and needs. Many challenges were faced and hurdles overcome as we navigated within an existing structure that wasn’t original to our development. The outcome is a cleaner, more flexible and easier-to-navigate website.

Spiritual Education & Wellness
Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E.
Edgar Cayce’s A.R.E. was in need of a comprehensive overhaul of their outdated and bloated website, starting with mapping out over 400 pages, identifying the most popular content, setting priorities, and creating a logical plan. After understanding their website ecosystem and its complexities, we agreed the new site would initially house the most valuable and visited content, with the intention of migrating the remaining over the next year.
Working with their team, we strengthened their site architecture, streamlined the navigation structure, implemented a more intuitive and easy-to-use event management system, cleaned up and improved content delivery and readability, implemented strategic calls-to-action, developed a stronger, brand-centric look and feel, and build on a CMS platform that allows the marketing team to better manage their site content.

Flexible Benefit Administrators (FBA)
FBA was in need of a website overhaul, and Red Chalk was the team for the job. Their previous website was clunky, difficult to navigate, lacked key content and clear calls-to-action, and didn’t represent the brand positioning they desired.
Working with their team, we strengthened their site architecture, streamlined the navigation structure, implemented strategic calls-to-action, developed a stronger, brand-centric look and feel, and created custom illustrations.

Garden Center
Reston Farm Garden Market
We’ve been the creative and marketing agency of record for Reston Farm Garden Market since 2019. As part of our management, we initially took over management of their existing Squarespace website, improving their content and SEO optimization in the process. Their eCommerce was limited to a dozen products and all manually managed. Eventually, the need to move to a more robust and dynamically-managed eCommerce solution was required.
In 2023, we launched a new WordPress website, powered by WooCommerce. The site is now synced with the Garden Market’s Clover inventory management, and products have grown from a dozen to over 100. The good news is new customers have a better idea of what garden supplies they carry and we no longer have to worry about inventory counts. The bad (not really) news is the site is showing up in more out-of-service area searches. Guess you could say that’s some strong SEO.

Goldpetal Farms
Attracting and driving visitors to Goldpetal Farms’ seasonal sunflower mazes is the primary goal of this site. In addition, it manages a very popular seasonal photo contest. And when working with gorgeous images of the mazes and flowers, a unique environment, and a client willing to trust our marketing leadership, it’s a project we love working on!

When you have decades of environmental education content and resources, four distinct environmental objectives to promote, and 17 localities to serve, the website better deliver! As part of a regional marketing and environmental program, the askHRgreen.org website has not only functioned as a well-regarded hub of information, it’s become an environmental powerhouse, serving as the module for other large-content delivery programs.
Now in our 13th year of developing and managing the askHRgreen.org brand and marketing program, we are on our second website. Key features include a robust search function, content bookmarking, mega menus, campaign and program promotion modules, dynamic and filterable content modules, a regional events calendar and a huge media toolkit library of searchable and filterable assets spanning over a decade of campaigns.

When Precision Powder Coating was purchased, our client Charlie undertook a rebrand with Red Chalk, starting with the identity system of the business and the website. We’ve been working with the Penrod company for over a decade to develop their corporate and business divisions’ sales and marketing collateral. When they were ready to tackle their website, Red Chalk stepped up with a dynamic new strategy and look that elevated their online presence.

Meals on Wheels of Virginia Beach
In existence since 1974, Meals on Wheels of Virginia Beach provides a much-loved and needed service to our community, bringing folks food and comfort. As an organization running on a shoestring budget and largely with the help of volunteers, they rely heavily on word-of-mouth referrals and relationship-building to provided much-needed funds. But then came a time when that simply wasn’t going to suffice.
When Meals on Wheels of Virginia Beach came to Red Chalk, their website and general online presence was poorly developed and attended to. They did not present themselves well, and competitive organizations were taking the lead. It became very clear that we needed to help them make drastic changes and improvements for this organization to survive. With the guidance of our brand, marketing and web development team, our client now has a website that not only positions them as the professional organization they are, but has been and will continue to be instrumental in telling their story, which, in turn, compels visitors to donate, and donate well. It has also served to attract new clients and volunteers. And that makes them, and us, very happy.

Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad
If you live in Virginia Beach and call 911 for emergency medical attention, there’s a good chance the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad (one of ten volunteer rescue squads in our city, and the largest) will be the ones to help you. And when they needed to update their website to be more user-friendly and stronger at driving action, Red Chalk Studios was the one to help them.
Working with their marketing team, we developed strategies that better help recruit volunteers, provide information to the community, allow for public reservation of meeting rooms and drive donations. We proudly donated time and effort to make this happen, and we’re honored to continue to support the squad and their mission.
